Vermont Slate

Slate was formed four million years ago when fine-grained ocean sediments turned to stone. In Vermont, where bedrock peeks through the soil, we call it "ledge". These rough-hewn slate trays, with their unpolished, tapering edges showing slate's natural cleavage, make unique placemats, serving trays or coasters.

For nearly 60 years, J. K. Adams has manufactured wooden products of exceptional quality in its factory in Dorset, Vermont. We begin with the finest Northeastern kiln dried lumber and combine function, aesthetics and manufacturing techniques to create products that last a lifetime.
